弱電線路要採用星型布線，從交換、分頻設備向各個端口放射。從布線施工簡單、維護方便考慮，最好各種設備放在同一個地方。現在的新房門口一般都有弱電配電箱，在配電箱里預留了各種線路的接頭;有的不是預留接頭，只是線路在箱子中轉一圈，然後通向一個房間。

另外，市面上賣的弱電配電箱功能並不齊全，雖然有一進四齣的接口，但只是一個配線架，無法實現內部互通和多台電腦同時上網。因此可嘗試把弱電配電箱改造一下。

個別房子沒有弱電配電箱布線就比較麻煩了，要不把各種設備分別放在入戶口旁邊;要不先把入戶線引到的一起。
